Tianjin is one of the four municipalities
in China. It abuts capital Beijing as the largest coastal
opening city in north China and the economic center in
Bohai Bay. Tianjin is a city of 11.9 thousand square kilometers,
with a population of more than 10 million. Tianjin is
not only a cradle of the Chinese national industry, but
also a major integrated industrial base in north China,
possessing more than 150 industrial categories.
For faster development of the new and high-tech industry,
Tianjin municipal government has confirmed electronic
information, biological and pharmaceutical engineering,new
energy and new material as key development fields in Tianjin.
Tianjin has made remarkable progress on opening to the
outside world. Formed by Tianjin Economic Development
Area, Tianjin Free Trade Zone, Tianjin New and High-tech
Park and 18 other development areas on section and county
level, Tianjin is among the most attractive cities in
the state for foreign investors. 189 among the Fortune
500 has set up factories in Tianjin such as Motorola,
Toyota, Samsung, LG, etc. Especially after China’ s entry
to WTO, the municipal government has promulgated a series
of relevant laws and regulations to further encourage
foreign investment in Tianjin by fostering a positive
legal environment.
Tianjin Venture Capital
It is the "seed" capital provided by the municipal
government to guide and promote the start of venture capital
business in Tianjin. It plays the demonstrative role and
is spent in supporting the venture capital institutions;
establishing and developing intermediate service agencies,
so as to setting up venture capital mechanism and cultivating
venture capital system. The total investment amount is
planned to be 500 million RMB, in which 150 million RMB
has been invested.
Tianjin Venture
Capital Co., Ltd.
It is an investment carrier set up by Tianjin Venture
Capital Development Center, with a registered capital
of 200 million RMB. Its business scope is venture investment
and the relevant consultation, aiming to use its own capital
to attract and cooperate with the foreign and non-governmental
resources to encourage the establishment of venture capital
institutions and intermediate service agencies in a cooperative
form.

Tianjin Technical Property Right Exchange It is a centralized
location for technical property right
transactions specified by the municipal government where
the venture capital can be withdrawn.
Tianjin High-tech Fruit Transformation Center It is an
institution offering services such as project
initiation, industrial and commercial registration, taxation
registration, tax exemption and reduction, loan guarantee,
talent introduction, household registration settlement,
professional title appraisal etc., as a significant component
of intermediate service system for venture capital field.
Other venture investment service institutions
Other venture investment service institutions In Tianjin,
there locates more than 10 venture capital service institutions
of various levels and types, such as TEDA International
Venture Incubator, Huayuan International Venture Capital
Center, Ocean Venture Capital Service Center and others,
300 venture capital enterprise and more than 1000 projects
are now being incubated.
